My Voice for Transportation Choices
“Transportation is tied into almost every issue of this region. If we don’t work to expand our mass transit options we are hurting ourselves in a multitude of areas. Think about our workforce needs. How will many of our companies fill the positions they need to operate, if the workforce they need has no means of getting to these companies’ job sites? How will we improve our economic development efforts when a business will look at the availability of workforce before they choose to move here? We might try to increase our efforts In providing affordable housing options in our counties, however if you don’t have some means of public transportation within those areas to Get those individuals to job sites, doctor appointments, the grocery store, etc., they will fail. I know not everyone may rely on public transportation and that is fine as I don’t believe it has to be a resource for everyone directly. However, indirectly it affects us all.
These are just a few of the reasons why you should support the expansion of our mass transit Options for this region. The growth of our region will depend on it.”
