Citizen Engagement Workshops: Your Tools for Smarter Growth

  • Thursday, July 15th, 5:30 - 8:30: University of Richmond Downtown, 626 E. Broad Street, Suite 100, Richmond VA 23219 (located at the corner of 7th and E. Broad St.)

Give us three hours on a Thursday evening this summer and leave with a Smart Citizen Certificate. Thanks to interactive presentations from experts from around the state, you’ll become a veteran of Smarter Growth 101, Planning 101, and Lobbying 101. You’ll learn about how land use and transportation decisions are made and how to take part in the process. You’ll hear a few inspiring stories from citizens who have successfully worked with their neighbors and local governments to achieve smarter growth in their localities. And you’ll become even more a part of a network of educated citizens ready to advocate for healthy, well-planned communities.

Walk and Talk: Growing Smarter in Urban, Suburban, and Rural Places

3rd Annual River City Saunter

Mark your calendar now for PSG’s event of the year, our River City Saunter. This year, we will also feature a Roundtable with experts from the real estate, development, and architecture communities exploring obstacles to and opportunities for smarter growth in our region. People Powered Bike and Pedestrian Initiative

Dates and locations TBA

Working closely with regional and local planners, citizen groups, and non-profits, PSG and RABA (Richmond Area Bicycling Association) present programs to identify the “top five” bike and pedestrian infrastructure projects in each locality and region-wide, such as the Capital-to-Capital Trail and the East Coast Greenway.
