OFFICIAL “2009 LET’S TALK” CONTEST RULES

Eligibility

1. No purchase necessary to enter or win.

2. Participants must be members of TransitTalk.Com. To join TransitTalk.Com, go to the website, www.transittalk.com, follow the instructions to become a member. Enter your e-mail address and select the Sign Up Now! Button. Follow the directions to become a member.

3. Participants must, in twelve (12) words or less, reply to the phrase “Without Transit Funding in the Richmond Region … How Will You Feel The Impact.” The format of the entry is as follows:

A. Participants must submit a digital photograph, in JPEG format, of themselves holding a placard or sign with their twelve (12) words or less reply.

4. Participants may make only one (1) entry in each of the following categories.
A. Environment
B. Quality of Life
C. Economy
D. Energy

5. Void where prohibited.

6. “Grand Prize” is an iPhone 3G 16 GB, publication of the winning entry in Style Weekly magazine, with the winner’s name, and display of the winning entry on the TransitTalk.Com website.

7. “Second Place” is a $50 GRTC GoCard, and display of the winning entry, with the winner’s name, on the TransitTalk.Com website.

8. “Third Place” is a $25 GRTC GoCard, and display of the winning entry, with the winner’s name, on the TransitTalk.Com website.

9. All entries will be displayed, with the contestant’s name, on the TransitTalk.Com website.

10. TransitTalk.Com will have the unlimited right without the contestant’s approval, to edit, vary, change, alter, modify, add to and/or delete from the entry, to rearrange and/or transpose the entry, and to use a portion or portions of the entry in conjunction with any other literary, dramatic, advertising, merchandising or other work of any kind.

11. Contest entries will be accepted starting 12:01 a.m., Saturday, August 1, 2009, Eastern Standard Time, and ends at 11:59 p.m., Eastern Standard Time, on Friday, August 21, 2009. Entries received after that time will not be eligible.
A. Entries must show the entrant holding a sign in front of his/her self with the up to twelve (12) words or less reply to the phrase “Without Transit Funding in the Richmond Region … How Will You Feel The Impact?”
B. Entries must be in JPEG digital format.
C. Entries must be uploaded to the TransitTalk.Com website.

12. The Grand Prize, Second Place. And Third Place winners must present two forms of proper identification at the time the Prize is given; with at least one being a photo ID. Proper identification includes a U.S. state issued driver’s license, military ID, social security card and/or birth certificate.

In order to qualify to win a prize, the winner must meet the following criteria:
A. Be a U.S. resident
B. Must be 18 years or older
C. Possess a valid U.S. state driver’s license

13. Winners will be determined by votes cast by members of TransitTalk.Com. Voting to start at 12:01 a.m., Saturday, August 22, 2009, EST, and ending at 11:59 p.m., Friday, September 4, 2009, EST.

14. The Grand Prize winner will be the entry with the largest number of votes and must be present on September 10, 2009, at the Try Transit Day Event.

The Second Place winner will be the entry with the second largest number of votes and must be present on September 10, 2009, at the Try Transit Day Event.

The Third Place winner will be the entry with the third largest number of votes and must be present on September 10, 2009, at the Try Transit Day Event.

Participants will be informed via U.S. Mail concerning the time and place of the September 10, 2009, celebration awards ceremony.

15. Employees of GRTC Transit System and its subsidiaries, RideFinders, Try Transit Day partners, members of the RideFinders Advisory Board, GRTC Transit System Board of Directors, and any affiliate associated with the contest, members of their immediate family (regardless of where they live), anyone living in the same household (whether related to the them or not), are not eligible to win the Grand Prize. “Immediate family” shall include parents, grandparents, children, grandchildren, siblings, or spouse.

16. All federal, state, and local taxes, licensing, and registrations, title, tags and transfer fees, and all insurance costs are the sole responsibility of the prize winners.

17. Grand Prize winner must sign a Certificate of Receipt, Eligibility and Release of responsibility which will indemnify and hold harmless RideFinders, GRTC Transit System, and their heirs and assigns, from any damages, real or perceived, by the prize winner in relation to these rules and regulations.

18. The winners acknowledge that GRTC, RideFinders, and TransitTalk.com have the right to publicize their name, character, likeness, photograph, voice, entry and the fact that he/she participated in the contest and is a winner without further authorization or financial compensation.

19. Winners agree to accept prizes as is. GRTC, RideFinders, and TransitTalk.com makes no guarantee or warranty, expressed or implied.

20. The prizes are non-transferable and may not be substituted or redeemed for any other prize. Failure to collect at the September 10, 2009, Try Transit Day celebration constitutes forfeiture of the prize. The Grand Prize has no cash equivalency.

21. Winners must waive any and all claims of liability against RideFinders, GRTC Transit System, and its subsidiaries, participating sponsors, and any affiliate associated with the contest, and all respective employees, officers, administrators, representatives, and agents for any personal injury or loss arising directly or indirectly from the contest and/or award or use of any prize by signing a comprehensive release form. Failure to sign a release form is a violation of the contest rules and constitutes forfeiture of prize.

22. TransitTalk.Com reserves the right to modify the Contest rules, Contest and Contest dates without notice at any time; rule changes will be published on www.transittalk.com.

23. Decision of TransitTalk.Com management in the interpretation of Contest rules is final. By participating, Participants agree to be bound by the decisions of the judges and the official Contest rules.

24. Odds of winning Grand Prize, Second Place, Third Place depends on the number of eligible entries received.
